Victor's Lab contained all the necessary elements for creating a monster. Victor was obsessed with the idea of creating a living human beiing. "In a solitary chamber, or rather cell, at the top of the house, and separated from all the other apartments by a gallery and a staircase, I kept my workshop of filthy creation."(Shelley 66) Although Victor describes his workshop as a solitary chamber and a cell, this museum believes that it must have been slightly larger than what we would in this era consider a cell.
Victor created a monster that was quite large, "I resolved, contrary to my first intention, to make the being of a gigantic stature; that is to say, about eight feet in height, and proportionably large".(Shelley 65) With a being of that size, we have approximated the size and the look of Victor's Lab. As the room was located at the top of a large building, separated by a gallery and a staircase we feel that our depiction of Victor's lab is in proportion to the size he would have needed to create such a being.

This fictional lab is based on what we approximated would be needed to house the instruments, equipment, and body parts/pieces. As you can see there would have needed to be natural light to help illuminate the room, while shelves would have held the various equipment needed for the creation.
The Creation Comes to Life

This display depicts Victor in his lab at the time of creation. Shelley describes this moment as; "It was a dreary night of November that I beheld the accomplishment of my toils. With an anxiety that almost amounted to agony, I collected the instruments of life around me, that I might infuse a spark of being into the lifeless thing that lay at my feet. It was already one in the morning; the rain pattered dismally against the panes, and my candle was nearly burnt out, when, by the glimmer of the half-extinguished light, I saw the dull yellow eye of the creature open; it breathed hard, and a convulsive motion agitated its limbs".(Shelley 69)
